Limited Access to Library Materials

Newport News Public Schools families can limit their child's access to specific titles in our school library collection. All materials in our media centers were carefully selected according to Newport News Public Schools Policy IJL for School Library Media Center Materials and IJL-P procedures. However, if you would like to limit access to certain library books, you must complete the Limited Access to Library Materials form below.

Please note that flags may take up to five business days to be recorded in your child's Destiny account. Destiny is our district’s library catalog system. It is important for families to discuss with their child or children any restrictions regarding the books their child or children will have access to in the library. Although we remain vigilant, we cannot guarantee that your child will not have access to certain books before check-out within the library.

Families can search titles available to students in the school media center using the Destiny Discover link located on each school’s library page.
